Spring Haute Couture Paris 2011

For this emotional charged collection, John Galliano has been inspired by the work of the famed drawer Rene Gruau, who collaborated with Christian Dior himself for most of his career. He had developed his distinctive “New Look” in the ’40s, which has been a great impact to haute couture, theatre, art and commercial design.

The colors, the lines, patterns, style and designs are the elements which were transferred from Gruau’s illustrations to the runway, where the garments are in a coherent continuity with the past. It’s a travel throught the pure elegance, as the fantastic make up makes clear.
