Menswear collection, Fall 2011

Croatian/German fashion designer based in Paris Damir Doma debuted with a Menswear collection at Paris Fashion Week in June 2007. Fours years later he shows us an impressive collection. I admire , beside the oversized jacket and coats,  his use of  leathers and  fabrics that he handles to creates a fluid effect on the trousers.

Fall 2011, Paris Fashion week

The unconventional designer Rick Owens  has been presented in Paris his fall collection 2011.  “Dirty habits that´s what my clothing is all about, I mean it´s dirty chic, it´s totally messed up, so you don´t have to worry about messing it up yourself, I mess it up for you. All this wonderful cashmere is already fucked up on your behalf ” says the designer himself. Models walk down the runway in a minimal color palette complete for  a work that is a mix of fur, cashmere, leather, jersey, wool, and padded nylon. Owens created a sublime silhouette which encased the body in a strong, but still sensual manner.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD
Fall 2011, Paris Fashion week

The Punk Queen shocked again! Vivienne Westwood has presented her show in Paris definitely rock the world mashing up  all kinds of culture to  represents different views for unconventional women. “You can wear anything in our part of the world. Anything goes.” She said to describe her fall collection World Wide Woman. Models stepped out on a gold shiny runway painted with black and white warrior-type masks, wearing a mix of several fabrics such Damask, tribal prints, wools and never missing Tartan. Gold was the leit motiv of the entire collection, the shoes, the embrodery and the catwalk Itself  were of that sparkling color.

LOUIS VUITTON
Fall 2011, Paris Fashion week

Yesterday Louis Vuitton opened the final day of Paris Fashion Week 2011 with an amazing show where the models stepped out on the catwalk from four elevators . This collection is based on a contrast between high smartness and  fetish ispirations by the designer Marc Jacobs. The models strutted down the runway with silk-organza shirts, big patent leather belts, transparent pvc coats, hot pants and furs. It´s interesting also the maxi squared pailettes skirts or the piton coats. An impressive line up for the maison which included  Mariacarla Boscono, Amber Valletta, Naomi Campbell, Carolyn Murphy and  Kate Moss that  smoking a cigarette closed the show. The result is an elegant but strong woman that likes to impress using her womanhood.


IRIS VAN HERPEN
Fall 2011, Paris Fashion week

Dutch designer Iris van Herpen started in 2007 with her own label, she presented her fall 2011 couture collection “Epicalism” in Paris. This collection is characterized by futuristic volume and interlaced fabrics on  structured dresses each design is intricate comprised of black,white, beige and grey colors and they were made out of unconventional fabrics, like a mix of silk and metal. Iris van Herpes collaborated from the spring/summer collection with United Nude´s company in the design process of shoes and hats. Season by season she shows us her creativity to renew the female form with innovation and ability.

VIKTOR & ROLF
Fall 2011,Paris Fashion week

Medieval age inspirations for the fashion show fall 2011 of the designers Viktor & Rolf presented in Paris. The collection is  characterized by  geometrics designs and strong´s  cuts  on leather , high collars, and  pleated skirts or stiff chiffon-plated dresses with shoulders that were exaggerated (are like parts of reptils). The result is an elegant and extravagant succession of silhouettes with red faces dominated only by black, red ,white and silver colors.
