Less than a month after its widely successful collaboration with Versace, H&M has announced that it’s next designer team up is with Marni.
The Italian fashion label, helmed by Consuelo Castiglioni, will design a line that features Marni’s signature prints and and use of whimsical colors. Women’s Wear Daily reports that the collection will be sold in about 260 H&M stores worldwide, as well as online.
There will be a women’s and men’s collection plus accessories like those chunky necklaces with a homespun feel and the trademark conical hats. Judging from the early images, the looks with their relaxed silhouettes and the use of the signature Marni polka-dot print are sure to draw huge crowds.
“I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements,” Castiglioni told Forbes.
The news Sofia Coppola shot the ad campaign in Marrakesh — famed for its Moorish architecture and colorful mosaics — seems fitting with what can be expected of the collection.
Marni for H&M will be available in 260 stores worldwide and online as of March 8, 2012. Sofia Coppola’s ad campaign will run online and in cinemas and television screens worldwide.
