The Somerset House in London offers an homage to probably the most long lasting fashion designer of our times, Mr Valentino Garavani.

An exhibition called  “Valentino: Master of Couture” will gather 130 exclusive models from the retired Italian Designer. Through these pieces his story of beauty, couture and fame will be told. From his famous red dresses, to all the beautiful evening gowns, the viewers will experience a unique voyage through his life as the “Last Emperor”.

This breathtaking exhibit will open on November 29th and will run until March 3rd 2013.

This collection focuses on hand felt. Anita Hirlekar, based in London, plays thoughtfully and artistically with the textile, using this technique for the construction of the garment which consists in felting the pieces together.

The result is a unique image of a woman portrayed as a timeless painting. Her garments appear to be art, rather than having just a usual fashion twist. This goes without saying that Anita was inspired by paint splashes from various abstract paintings such as Rothko and Richter.

Drawn in Light is a brand new designer duo based in London.

In their collections the prints are the protagonists: each piece is unique and made with free hand silk-screen techniques.

Their style is minimal but original, the shapes are soft and clear … a new concept for a different kind of woman.

David Bowie - Brian Duffy

On the occasion of Pitti Immagine Uomo 81, the Museo Nazionale Alinari della Fotografia in Florence promotes the first retrospective on the photographic work of Brian Duffy – DUFFY. A PHOTOGRAPHIC GENIUS – 12 January – 25 March 2012.

During the Sixties Brian Duffy (1933 –2010) was the portrayer of the Swinging London.
