This is the uncensored Nicola Formichetti’s video for the campaign “Brothers of Arcadia” Menswear Spring/Summer Collection 2012 directed by Branislav Jankic featuring models Alex Eroe, Esmir Redzepagic, Justin Barnhill, Matthieu Charneau, Peter Pagan and Travis Cannata.

“I was interested in the idea of fantasy, dreams and voyeurism,” Formichetti says. “I was looking at Italian Neo-Realist cinema and then, post-that, where Fellini and Pasolini become more about myth and fantasy. At the same time, I loved the idea and accessibility of pornography and everyday voyeurism onXtube. Fashion is always referencing pornography, so there was an element in doing this film of just ‘cutting out the middleman,’ but it is an erotic fashion film nonetheless.”

British Colony presented the Spring/Summer collection 2012 at Rio fashion week, here the video and some pictures of the fashion show.

“Jan Taminiau was born in 1975 in The Netherlands. In 2001 he graduates at the Academy of Art and Design in Arnhem, and signs up for the master’s programme at the Fashion Institute of Arnhem in 2003. After various traineeships at Olivier Theyskens, Oscar Süleyman, corsetier Hubert Barrere and lacemaker Hurel in Paris, he ventured abroad for the first time with a master’s project entitled ‘Unfolding’, which he presented at the Paris Fashion Week. This was followed by a window exhibition at Colette in Paris. In 2003 he launched his own label, JANTAMINIAU.”

Dutch designer Iris van Herpen started in 2007 with her own label, she presented her fall 2011 couture collection “Epicalism” in Paris. This collection is characterized by futuristic volume and interlaced fabrics on  structured dresses each design is intricate comprised of black,white, beige and grey colors and they were made out of unconventional fabrics, like a mix of silk and metal. Iris van Herpes collaborated from the spring/summer collection with United Nude´s company in the design process of shoes and hats. Season by season she shows us her creativity to renew the female form with innovation and ability.

For this emotional charged collection, John Galliano has been inspired by the work of the famed drawer Rene Gruau, who collaborated with Christian Dior himself for most of his career. He had developed his distinctive “New Look” in the ’40s, which has been a great impact to haute couture, theatre, art and commercial design.
