ÚNA BURKE is an artist designer based in London :” Through my work I continually aim to create leather objects which are both visually captivating and technically challenging. They are indefinable as particular garments, avoiding being placed into the conventional categories of the fashion industry. They are free to exist as wearable objects, to be interpreted independently by each individual. I use traditional leatherworking techniques to produce these evocative, conceptual creations and in doing this I hope to encourage a new and more modern appreciation for leather craftsmanship, presenting the possibilities achievable through the use of this material in both the areas of visual art and of functional design.”

This is history in the making for Malawi and for the very determined, ambitious, beautiful and talented Lilly Alfonso. Having done a sold out show in Malawi’s capital, designed a garment for the reigning miss Malawi’s dress for Miss world, Lilly is on top of the world. This weekend, the fashion elite of LANDAAAAN TOWN will be glaring at her work like a Hawk to see this designer’s signature, distinctive, creative garments and help get her closer to the fulfilment of her wildest Dreams.

Getting an interview with your favourite designer is every girl’s dream. But when your favourite designer is one of the busiest and hard working men in fashion then things can get tricky. I wasn’t going to let it defeat my rock and roll dream chasing edge so took my chances and made it happen. I finally managed to chat to Christian Blanken on hisdesigns, his brand, SS12 collection and most important of all, the brain food for every Dream chaser; motivation, inspiration and purposefulness.

Inspired by the juxtaposition between Russian peasants and royalties, Autumn Winter 2012 delves into the stories surrounding the final czars of the Romanov family and the myth of their daughter Anastasia, the sole survivor of the family massacre. Exploring the journey of her escape and the loss of her privileged life, Fyodor Golan investigated the correlation to that of an insect that changes itself for protection.

The fashion designer Julia Heuse presented her Autumn/Winter collection 2012 at the studio of the official Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week tent. I worked with the designer as stylist and consultant. Here some pictures of the backstage and runway.

During my work I realized a fashion documentary for  Barracuda Film & TV an independent production company based in Stockholm called “State of Style”.

PERRET SCHAAD was founded by Johanna Perret and Tutia Schaad in 2009, shortly after they graduated from the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee. In January 2010, the duo was invited to show their first collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.They presented their Autumn Winter collection 2012 at the Brandeburg Gate on January 19, 2012 in Berlin.
